Our Story
Ringland was developed in the 1950s to accommodate workers for the former Llanwern steelworks. The area has much greenspace, an emerging community health collaborative and a strong social fabric. With new services being created in the area and regeneration planned, our 19 Hills CIC will promote the health and wellbeing of the communities of Ringland and Alway by bringing independent funding and the voice of local residents to promote services strengthening local assets and meeting the needs of residents. We will work with partners more widely to improve job opportunities, quality housing, energy security and other areas for the local population, recognising the importance these areas have for people’s health and wellbeing.
Our Activities
Integrated public services
We will work with local services to make sure they are integrated, holistic, focussed on prevention, with the right services and activities in the centre to support local assets and need.
Community health development in Ringland & Alway
Our CIC and members will, working with local residents, work to strengthen connections, opportunities and physical assets in the community to benefit local health, wellbeing and agency.
Building blocks for health in the community
We will work with local partners, third and statutory sector organisations and businesses to increase and improve opportunities in employment, education, energy generation, outdoor space and more, as we work on the building blocks that truly shape health and wellbeing in our area.
